How to share observation notes with families (Engagement)

 

 

On the Learning Genie Web Portal:

 

1. Select a classroom and click the Portfolio tab. Or you can select "Portfolio" > "Add Observations" from the sidebar, and then select a classroom to proceed.

2. Click the orange "Add" button in the top-right corner. 

 

3. Fill in the necessary information. There are three basic requirements to post an Observation Note:

- Text (Description).

- Tags (Measures).

- Children (You can make individual or group Observation Notes).

* You can also attach a photo, video, or documents such as a Word document, PowerPoint, Excel, or PDF.

 

4. Click on Share in Engagement.

 

5. Click on the "Save" button to publish the Observation Note!

 

You should now be able to see your Observation Note posted on the student's Portfolio and the note should also be shared with their families on the Parent App!

 

 

On the Learning Genie Educator App:

 

1. Tap on the "Portfolio" yellow tab.

 

2. Tap the "Plus" sign in the top-right corner. 

 

3. Fill in the necessary information. There are three basic requirements to post an Observation Note:

- Text (Description).

- Tags (Measures).

- Children (You can make individual or group Observation Notes).

* You can also attach a photo, video, or voice recording. 

 

4. Tap on Share in Engagement.

 

5. Locate and tap the checkmark in the top-right corner to publish your Observation Note!

 

 

You should now be able to see your Observation Note posted on the student's Portfolio and the note should also be shared with their families on the Parent App!

On the Educator App:

1. Go to Portfolio on the left-handed menu and then tap the orange circle icon on the top right corner

 

2. Add the description or observation, select the domain, select the children or child, and tap the "Share in Engagement" option

3. Tap the blue checkmark on the top right corner

 

You will see the note on the child's portfolio and engagement feed.
