Why can't I see the chat feature but my teachers can?
If you’re unable to see the two-way messaging (chat) feature, but your teachers can, it’s likely because you are set up as an Agency Owner or Agency Admin, and there are Site Admins already assigned in your account.
This is a built-in restriction—Agency Admins don’t have access to chat to avoid receiving messages from every classroom across all sites.
Workaround: How to Access Chat Without Changing Your Role
If you want access to chat messages without changing your main role:
- Create a separate email (dummy account) for yourself.
- Add this email as a Site Admin in your agency’s Learning Genie account.
- Assign all sites to this Site Admin account.
- Log in using this Site Admin account whenever you want to monitor or participate in messages.
