How to use chat feature on the web portal

Our chat feature can be found under "Messages" > "Chat

 

Here is how to navigate the webchat: 

1.  You are able to see a message thread if selecting the left message icon. 

 

2. If highlighted, you can view all the messages sent to the parent of the child. 

Each message is time-stamped (mm/dd/yyyy) and time 00:00. 

Note: "Show more" allows you to view previous messages. 

 

3. You can type out your message in the text box. The "Enter/Return" button creates a line break. If you are ready to send your message, please click "Send." 

Note: The mceclip0.png button will allow you to only add pictures that are saved onto your device 

 

 

Starting a One-on-One Chat

Our one-on-one chat feature is a fantastic way to connect directly with staff members or parents. Here's how:

 

One on One Chat with Staff

As a teacher, you can easily start a one-on-one chat by clicking on the profile picture of the staff  you'd like to message.

 

One on One Chat with Parent

To chat directly with a parent:

  1. Click the  icon to open the site and classroom selection.
  2. Select the site and classroom where the child is enrolled.
  3. Click on the child's profile to view the onboarded parents.
  4. Choose the parent you'd like to message and start your chat.

 

 

Important Notes:

  • Permissions Required: Agency owners or admins must enable chat permissions for staff members to message one another.
  • Family Members: Parents or family members of the same child cannot initiate chats with each other.
