How to Submit an Off-Site Request Using the Parent App

Need to notify your child’s program that they'll be off-site for an activity or appointment? With the Learning Genie Parent App, submitting an Off-site Request is simple, fast, and always available—no more waiting or relying on the Daily Health Card.

Here’s everything you need to know:

What Is an Off-site Request?

The Off-site Request is a new standalone feature in the Learning Genie Parent App.
It allows you to let your program know when your child will be attending an approved off-site event, like:

-A dentist or doctor’s appointment

-A home visit

-A field trip

Or any activity not on site

Note: This feature is no longer tied to the Daily Health Card (DHC), so it’s available any time—even outside daily check-in hours.

How to Submit an Off-site Request

  1. Open the Learning Genie Parent App and log in.
  2. From the Home screen, tap the orange “+” button.
  3. Select the option “Off-site Request.”
  4. Fill in the required details:

-Date and time of the off-site activity

-Type of activity (e.g., doctor visit, home day)

-Any notes or comments for the teacher

  5. Review your entry. If there’s a conflict or error, the app will notify you.
  6. Tap “Submit” to send your request.

That’s it! Your program will receive your request instantly.

Note:

To ensure accuracy, the submission process now features smart alerts that proactively flag key issues for parents, such as:

Conflicts with a teacher's settings (the teacher has already set the child as off-site with a reason that day, parent will not be allowed to make changes.)

Requests spanning multiple sites

These alerts help guide you to correct the issue before submitting.
