How to Save a Draft Observation Note

If you're wondering how to create or save a Draft for your Observation Notes, here’s a simple guide — whether you're using the App or the Web Version.

App Version (Educator App)

If you’re a Teacher or Administrator using the app:

1. Tap on the Portfolio tab from the left-hand menu.
   
   
2. Tap the orange circle (+) in the top right corner to create a new observation.
   
   
   
3. Fill in the required information (Text, Tag, Children, and any media).
   
   
4. Tap the Draft icon in the top-right corner to save it as a draft.
   

• Drafts are saved with a pink background, so they’re easy to spot!
  
  

To publish your Draft:

1. Tap Edit on the draft you'd like to complete.
   
   
   
2. Make your updates, then tap Update.
   
   
   
3. Finally, tap the blue checkmark in the top-right corner to submit the observation.
   

Web Version

If you're using the web platform:

1. Log into your Learning Genie account.
   
   
2. Navigate to your class’s Portfolio by clicking on the correct class.
   
   
   
3. Change the view to Past Incompleted Drafts.
   
   
   
4. Click the Pencil icon next to the draft you want to update.
   
   
   
5. Update the observation with any needed details.
   
   
6. Click the Save button to publish it.
   

You should now see your Observation Note published!
