How to Rate a Child Measure by Measure

(Web Portal & Educator App)

 

Learning Genie allows you to rate assessment measures one by one for each child, giving you flexibility to review and save ratings individually. You can complete this process on both the Web Portal and the Educator App.

Follow the steps below to rate a child’s measures individually:

Web Portal: Rate Measures One by One

1. Access the Classroom
   
   
   • From the Home Page, click the classroom you wish to rate.
     
     
   • Alternatively, you can go to Portfolio > Add Observations from the sidebar, then select a classroom.
     
2. Go to Portfolio Status
   
   
   • Click on the Class Status button.
     
     
   • Select Portfolio Status from the dropdown.
     
3. Select a Child and Unrated Measures
   
   
   • Click on the child you wish to rate.
     
     
   • Under Unrated, locate the measure you wish to rate individually.

4. Rate and Save

• • Select the appropriate rating level for the measure.
    
  • Click Save to complete the rating for that specific measure.
    
    
  • Repeat this process for each measure you wish to rate individually.

Educator App: Rate Measures One by One

1. Access the Portfolios Tab
   
   
   • Open the Learning Genie Educator App.
     
     
   • Tap on the Portfolios tab located at the bottom of the screen.

2. Select an Observation

• • Find and tap on an observation that contains the measure you wish to rate.

3. Rate the Measure

• • Tap directly on the measure to open the rating options.

• Select the desired rating. Once a measure is rated, it will turn solid blue to indicate completion.

 

4. Repeat for Additional Measures

• • Continue tapping on other unrated measures to rate them one by one.
    
    

Web Portal: Rate All Measures by Measure View (New Feature)

Learning Genie now offers a Measure View option within the Rate All page, allowing you to rate one measure at a time for multiple children in the same view. This streamlines the process when you want to focus on a specific measure across the entire classroom.

Follow these steps to Rate by Measure:

1. Navigate to Rate All
   
   
   • Click the teal Rate All button located at the top-right corner.
     
2. Switch to Measure View
   
   
   • On the top left, you will see two tabs: Child View and Measure View.
     
     
   • Click on Measure View to switch to rating by measure.
     
3. Select a Measure
   
   
   • Use the dropdown menu to select the specific measure you want to rate (e.g., ATL-REG1: Attention Maintenance).
     

 

4. Rate Each Child for the Selected Measure

1. • A list of all children will appear in rows, while rating levels (Earlier, Middle, Later, etc.) are displayed in columns.
     
     
   • Click on the circle under the appropriate rating level for each child.
     
     
   • Once rated, the selected circle will turn solid blue to indicate completion.
     
     
   
   5. Check Reference Descriptions
   
   
   • At the bottom of the page, you’ll see descriptive examples for each developmental level to help guide your rating decisions.
     
     
   • You can click Check Reference to view or hide these examples.

6. Repeat for Additional Measures

• • After completing ratings for one measure, you can select a new measure from the dropdown and repeat the process. You can also click on the blue measures in the upper right corner.

7. Reset Ratings (Optional)

• • If you need to clear a rating, click the Reset link next to the child's name to remove the rating for that measure.

Helpful Tips:

• Child View lets you rate all measures for a single child, while Measure View allows you to rate the same measure for multiple children at once.
  
  
• Rated measures will appear filled in blue.
  
  
• “UR” (Unable to Rate), “EM” (Emerging), and “Not Yet” options are available for additional flexibility.
