How to customize frameworks for children in the same class

In the past, children must follow the classroom framework. Learning Genie has added a new ability to enable agencies to customize DRDP-IT or DRDP-PS framework for children in the same class.

 

 

1. To use this feature, click the “Edit” button for a classroom, then check the “Customize framework for children in this class” option.

 

2. To modify a child’s assessment framework, go to Children List by clicking on the "Child" under the classroom.

 

3. Locate the child you wish to edit, hover over this child, and click the edit pencil. You can modify the child’s framework on the “Basic Information” tab.

 

Update Individual Child’s Assessment Framework

Scenario 1. You haven't completed a child's observation and rating progress

If a child’s observation progress is complete, but the rating progress is incomplete, you can update the child's framework directly or complete the rating progress before the update.

• Generate New First Rating Period: The system will generate a new first rating period for this child. The previous notes will not be carried over. Moreover, the child will be treated as a new enrollee with the transfer date as the new “Starting Date.” 
• Keep Original Rating Period: Teachers can inherit the previous notes and continue the observation and rating.

 

Scenario 2. Complete Observation Progress, Incomplete Rating Progress 

If a child’s observation progress is complete, but the rating progress is incomplete. You can update the child's framework directly or complete the rating progress before the update.

• Update the child's framework now: Please confirm the child's rating period after the update.

• Rate and lock child first: You will be directed to the "Rate All" page.

 

Scenario 3. Complete Observation Progress and Rating Progress 

A child's framework can be updated if the child has been locked. If the child hasn't been locked, you need to confirm whether you want to update the child's framework directly or wait until after the IT ratings are locked.

• Update the child's framework now: Please confirm the child's rating period after the update.

• Lock the IT ratings: You will be redirected to the “Pre-locking Check” page. The child's framework can be updated upon successful lock and confirmation. 

 

Update Classroom Framework

Scenario 1. Update classroom framework from DRDP-IT to DRDP-PS

All children’s frameworks will be updated after confirmation, no matter what frameworks are used by children in this class.

Scenario 2. Update classroom framework from DRDP-IT to DRDP-IT

• If all children in this class are using the DRDP-IT framework, all their frameworks will be updated.
• If some children are using the DRDP-PS framework, you can keep these children’s framework or update their framework to DRDP-IT.

Note: to add observation notes for multiple children who are using both DRDP-IT and DRDP-PS frameworks, you can only choose the mutual measures of these frameworks.
