How do I create a group observation note?

Creating a group Portfolio observation note is as simple as creating a regular portfolio observation! Since Learning Genie is a cross-platform application available on the web as well as mobile devices (tablets and phones), you have the ability to create an observation anywhere! Follow these easy steps!

On the Learning Genie Educator App:

1. Tap on the "Portfolio" yellow tab.

2. Tap the orange "Plus" sign  on the top-right corner.

3. Fill in the necessary information. There are three basic requirements to post an Observation Note:

- Text (Description).

- Tags (Measures).

* You can also attach a photo, video, or voice recording.

4. Use the plus sign on the "Add children" section to tag multiple children, or use the "All" check box to select all children in the classroom.

5. Locate and tap the checkmark in the top-right corner to publish your Observation Note!

You should now be able to see your Observation Note posted on the selected children's Portfolio.

 

On the Learning Genie web portal:

1. Click a classroom and verify that the Portfolio tab is highlighted in blue

Or you can select "Portfolio" > "Add Observations" from the sidebar, and then select a classroom to proceed.

2. Click the orange +Add button in the top-right corner

3. Click on the + button to select multiple children for the group observation note or use the "All" check box to select all children in the classroom.

4. Fill in the remaining required fields.

- Text (Description)

- Tags (Measures)

Optional: You can also attach a photo or documents on the web portal (PDF, Word Doc, Powerpoint, Excel)

5. Click "Save" to publish the observation!

You should now be able to see the group Observation Note posted on the selected children's portfolio.
